Another double subway ad. This one for Shéna Ringö’s new album Heisei Fūzoku. To be honest, I don’t think I’ve ever heard any of her songs but I thought that I’d post this photo to send some link love over to Brad. He’s got one of the best Shéna Ringö fan blogs.

Roy, Sheena is very special and unique. I have the album with the cup on it and the songs are accessible, quirky, jazzy and full of bits or tapes and loops and radio newsreels. She is very special. Go and check Utube and then you will see. A national treasure.

Wow, I just checked out some of her videos. I know a lot of J singers sing offkey but she is the worst! How this stuff can pass for music is beyond me.

Mike, her style may not be the most accessible, but if you give her a chance you’ll probably realize she’s a lot better than most of the mainstream stuff.
