That’s me driving a red NA Eunos Roadster! Well, not really me. A virtual me. A demo version of Gran Turismo HD was made available for download on xmas eve and of course I downloaded it right away. 630MBs. Gran Turismo is the driving simulator racing game where you drive real cars and not fake kind-of-looks-like-(name of car here) racing games like Ridgeracer. And the demo is holy cow amazing! This is why I bought a PS3! I haven’t played any previous version of GT but the graphics and realism of this version are fantastic. There are 10 cars in the demo which become available as you beat the target times. The roadster is the second car and I was impressed at how roadster-ish it felt. There are spectators which turn their heads as you pass by, some with cameras shooting your photo, each person is dressed differently too! All the people are men though. No women. No babes to watch you do a perfect drift. What’s the point? The game itself is fairly hard to play and I think I’ll have to get one of those steering wheel things to enjoy it fully. Can’t wait for the game to come out so I can drive an NC Roadster!! More photos of me ripping up the course after the jump.

Amazing graphics, after watching gameplay for a few minutes, I actually felt carsick!
I have no idea about the visual quality of this new version, I didn’t see it yet, but GT has always had a really great gameplay, very realistic.

Really nice roadster…I used to own mazda mx3 (1991) and this thing so reminds me of all the fun I had. Also, I recently saw PS3 demo and it is freaking awesome. Can’t wait to get my hands on one here in wisconsin.

I used to Play GT1, 2 and 3 A-spec all night long. In fact, It’s the ONLY game I own for my Playstation 2. Even then, the realism of the driving was really accurate. I raced my Miata and Prelude regularly in SOLO2 back home and I could set up my cars in GT fairly similarly. It would shudder when it was too low, I could set spring rates so that my car would start understeering just like how my real car did…really fun stuff. This new HD version looks AMAZING.
