My new wheels have arrived and were installed on saturday. I was hoping to get some better photos before posting, but it looks like it will be awhile until I can take them out in good weather and get some pics of that sexy chrome in the sunshine. So these photos will have to do. The reflection of that guy’s feet really bugs me.

It seems you don’t have income problems (o.o)

I ordered these way back in April and have been waiting ever since. I saved up the money in the meantime.

Franscisco: I agree. Roy’s modest. I also think Roy’s actually big pimpin’ now but he doesn’t want to admit it for fear of being robbed/kidnapped/taken hostage in his gadget loaded brand spankin’ new feng-shui correct house.

Roy: What the hell does that sticker say on your car? I’m guessing it’s like a “Pilot: Roy ‘Ray Gun’ ” kinda thing? ;)

Hi Roy,
Been browsing thru your blog and finally decide to post something. Nice to meet ya. You really have a nice ride there. Loved those rims. You have made a good investment for it. :)

Hi Mike, thanks for visiting.

Yes, I’m not sure everyone would understand or appreciate it, but that car has brought me so much pure joy in the last few months.

Years ago, I used to be of the opinion “Why do you need a car in Tokyo? Isn’t that a waste of money” but now I look at it as an investment in my happiness :-)

And those wheels are to die for!! I go to my garage before bed just to look at them.

Yeah i know. Cars are important in my place too. Just to travel from point A to point B in my country, I can’t rely on our public transport.
LOL! I also do the same thing as you do when i got my new car last time. Just staring at it makes me happy. Why not you show some pics of you doing burnouts/donuts with them? :P

Congrats on the result! I think that you’ve made the right choice.

Congrats on your rims. They look awesome. Did you use the original tires or are they new as well?

Comment by Filipe on 2006-07-27 17:36:46

Stunning. I mean, it completely gives a new look to the car as a whole, and a better one a that too.

I was unsure about the chrome, but seeing it now in place (altough not ‘in the metal’) I think it really compliments the car, and do not look aftermarket at all. While not too brash, they do give it some distinction, don’t they? As the novelty of seeing a NC wears out, and especially a grey one, now yours will be plainly different.

Congratulations, top choice.

Now, for future driving pictures, why not consider this: http://www.bulletcam.com ? That way you could have action shots, showing your new rims! :)

Some of the guys at miatamania.net are considering the investment. We had a great time at our last meeting, but we’re growing tired of the still pictures…

Nice ride. It’s a Mazda MX-5 by the looks of it. I drive lots of cars and I took one of those out a few months ago in Canada - the GT version with the 6 speed transmission. Check out my review of it. Also, I have to say the most pimped ride & fastest I ever drove were the Infiniti FX45 and the MazdaSpeed6.

Your notes on Japan is fascinating!

hahahah

I’m taking out a VW Rabbit and maybe a Jetta tomorrow. It’ll be posted soon. I’ve got tons of reviews to do - there are so many cars and trucks out there.

Why did you move to Japan, of all places? Just curious.
