Found a whole bunch of Suica Penguin stuff on sale in Shinagawa Station. I’m not a big collector of character goods but I do like the Suica penguin. I got a notebook, stuffed penguin and mug cup.

I’m not familiar with Suica, but I do like that penguin!

Good lord. You just bought a TV. What in the world are you gonna do with a stuffed penguin? That could be another 1000 yen or so towards that house you were talking about!

But that’s how things work I guess. The most entrepreneurial and successful people I know never bean counted. They just let that money flow and some how, some way, it just came back to them. And now they’re rolling in it!

You do know that “mug cup” is Japanese-English, right? I hope you haven’t been here so long that you’ve forgotten that a “mug” is a cup and calling it a “mug cup” is redundant.

The stuffed penguin is pretty cute but the all time cutest stuffed toy goes to the PvP’s Skull plush doll: http://www.mayhemcomics.com/store/index.cfm?section=store&cmd=product&catlist=-1,178&productid=7323

Is “mug cup” an English word? Or is it one of those pseudo-English words, invented by the Japanese? I am familiar with the English words “mug” and “cup”, but not with the combination of the two.

Bigwaaagh, Suica is the name of the iccard used to get on the trains here and the penguin is the mascot.

Rick, imagine not going for a drink one or two nights and buying a stuffed penguin instead, haha…but I agree to what you said. Money is like love or kindness. The more you put out there in circulation the more you get back.

Orchid, oh geez you’re right about mug cup but wrong about that pvp skull thing..yuck..

J. Orchid is correct..mug cup is japanese-english..

I predict the sale of the Suica penguin will skyrocket once the March of the Penguins is shown in the cinemas.

Sorry, March of the Penguins has already come and gone here. There’s wasn’t much reaction to it. The Suica penguin has been around for almost 3 years now. I haven’t seen much merchandise until recently though.

Rick, if you must know I’m only keeping the mug, the other stuff I’m giving away to people.

Roy & Orchid, thanks for confirming what I suspected but was not sure about.
