Ryukyudisko

I saw this music video yesterday playing on a TV in an electronics store and found it quite fascinating. The concept of this video isn’t really new, I’ve seen similar ones on youtube but I liked the attention to detail in each frame. It goes back in time through several time periods in Japanese history very quickly but the fashion, furniture, background etc are carefully chosen so that…oh just watch it.

Nice. I like “Beat crusaders”. They also made a good OST music for some anime. But I couldn’t get one thing - why “Ryukyu”? Can’t see any relations.

The visuals don’t have anything to do with Okinawa but some parts of the song are Okinawa style

It’s their name and they’re from Okinawa, fair enough. :)

This visual style can be easily done with DSLR cameras or any camera with a fairly fast capture/write speed. Set the camera to 640×480 and multi-frame shutter. Now just hold down the shutter button and fire away. You will have a ton of frames to assemble into a movie. Quicktime Pro can assemble into a .mov if one doesn’t have video editing software. Also, Photoshop CS3 Extended can now create video from still frames.
