Another fancy kiosk spotted at the Marunouchi exit of Tokyo Station. This one doesn’t have a something-osk name like the others. Matsushima Nanako is holding that Namacha very provocatively, don’t ya think? It’s supposed to be a phallic symbol to entice tired salarymen subconsciously. No really, I learned all about phallic symbols in film school. Speaking of phallic symbols, did you know that the necktie (the most useless piece of clothing that serves no purpose) is the most phallic of phallic symbols? When cavemen started wearing underpants they needed to show that they were still men so they invented neckties. Not only has it been a symbol of male superiority and dominance but it’s shaped like an arrow pointing down at you know where. OK, now go discuss this fascinating topic amongst yourselves while I watch the latest lame episode of 24.

Nice info about the necktie! No wonder I feel strangely energetic when I put one on. And I wish Matsushima Nanako-san was holding my ocha bottle. Awesome website BTW. I’ve been reading for a couple of months now. Ciao!

One of the best Tshirts I ever saw: “if the brain needs oxygen, why wear a necktie?”
