Odaiba Panorama

I went to Odaiba today to watch “The lion, the witch and the wardrobe”, which unfortunately was not that great. It was just OK. I think if I was 10 years old I would really love it. Wait for the DVD. Before the film I took some photos of the Tokyo skyline and put together the panorama below.

Thanks for the photo of the Tokyo skyline Roy.

I first saw that statue of Liberty last year from a music video by Lee Soo Young a South Korean singer and have no idea where it is in Japan. So it is in Odaida.

Very nice panorama shot. Your photo’s give a much better insight in the cities and landscapes of Japan than those travel-show shots of neon-lit streets.
Keep up the good work.

I’ll see that movie when it comes out on DVD, I just can’t get myself motivated enough to go see it in the cinema.

Very nice panoramic montage. I’m so happy that I popped for my 36″ monitor that enables me to see the entire wide-angle view at once. Ha ha. I can almost smell the coming rain. It’s so refreshing in Tokyo to hear such a wide-open, distant view that produces a sound level less that 90 decibels. So many things around my neck of the woods are crumbling and moribund, but look at all those construction cranes on the skyline.

By the way, is that pretend Hong Kong still out there? I remember reaching out to flip through a Chinese magazine only to find that it was clear lacquered and glued to the magazine rack. I felt like i was in a kind of Twilight Zone of surface illusion.

Not such a long walk away I spent ten minutes in Venus Fort before I finally realized it really wasn’t the sky overhead. It took me that long to tear my attention momentarily away from the woman I was with, is my excuse.

Huh? It just came out in Japan? I watched it last year at the opening, (and was gushing about it to anyone who would listen)
I thought Tilda Swinton was sooooo cool! And bugged the bookstore to reserve a copy of the book for me–but I haven’t had time to read it yet ;(
Was the movie in Japanese? Odd that Tilda Swinton would be sprouting Japanese…

Ira, BigWaaagh, thanks I think I will be trying more of these panoramas when I get the chance.

Percy, yes the fake HK is still there.

Saffron, no it comes out next week (I saw a preview) and like all movies in Japan, they are subtitles but the dubbed version is also available.
