Programming

This week at work I’m building a simple database with a web-based frontend. What would have usually taken me about 2 hours to make has taken almost 3 days!! Part of the reason is that I’ve completely forgotten all my scripting and SQL in the same way that people forget how to write a Kanji or spell a word. I haven’t been in a developer role for more than 2 years so I’m rusty. Pathetic! I’ve been planning some personal projects on the side which I’m hoping will help keep my coding skills in shape.

Pray for good weather this weekend because I’ll be heading to Karuizawa to attend the annual Karuizawa Meeting. This is the largest gathering of Roadsters in Japan. Lots of photos to come.

Hi Roy, that’s good news! Well, I remember I’ve had to sign a lot of papers just for renting an apartment let alone a house…

Enjoy Karuizawa Meeting!! I wish I was there! “AlwaysBlueSky!” ;)

Just found out that I was given the wrong info by my real estate agent and still need to wait some more for loan approval. Now there’s a chance I may not get it. Oh well. We’ll find out next week. I have to delete that part from this post. Anyway, at least I can enjoy Karuizawa!!

Isn’t it a pain that we have to keep on using these skills to keep them from getting rusty? I’m having the same issues, though I’m not as competent a programmer as you.

Enjoy the Karuizawa Meeting ;)
