<description>I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought so. The way that girl talks is crazy! It sounds like screaming ducks. Or maybe it's just Thai? Kung Fu Hustle was pretty good but really violent. They should have warned the parents from bringing their little kids (one cried I think).

<description>Alejandra, I see. Lucky that you live close to the border so you can just go to California to watch films. Sith starts in Mexico at the same time as the rest of the world so you won't have to take the trip.

<description>Yep, well not all I think it's around 30%, sometimes the movie is already released on DVD and the movie theaters in Mexico displayed like it was a premier, I'm lucky to live in the frontier and go directly to US when I really really want to see a movie, let me tell you the difference in price is really a big difference in US $8 at least and Tijuana $3.50 and if you wan to go on Wednesdays $1.75

<description>Alejandra, I don't understand, Are you saying you have to wait to see movies too? Or are you saying the opposite, that you can drive 15mins to any theatre in California so you don't have to wait.

Of course, you can download pirate movies off of the internet before they come out, but some movies you just want to see in the theatre.

I haven't seen Kung Fu Hustle yet but I heard it was good.

<description>If you don't understand why some Hollywood movies releases in Japan to late imagine what I think living in Tijuana (México) at just 15min from any movie theater in California, yes sometimes we don’t have any explanation why it takes so long to exhibit.

I saw last Thursday 3/10 the TV Trailer from Episode III and I’m counting the days for May 19th just for the record was incredible the sensation of viewing so little time from the movie. WOW!!!

You're right New Police Story not even in a thousand years you will see it in a movie theater (at least here in Tijuana) but you can always go to a swap meet and found it in DVD for 3 dlls. Of course it’s not an original movie and I know that I must not buy that kind of movies because the copyright or whatever but you can see movies that you will never see in a movie theater or even in a rent store. I saw a Chan’s movie in Chinese with Spanish sub-titles just a month ago; also I found some others movies including anime (which I really like a lot) from the 80’s and 90’s and just a few from the last 4 years they are great!! I really don't understand why some movies that deserves to be in a theater never were show in a display.

By the way, yesterday I saw Kun Fu Hustle and I still laughing, what a cool movie...Oh! and if you want to know I’m in love of Takeshi Kaneshiro what a cute~handsome guy he is.

<description>I don't know about in the US but in Canada we had a great variety of films available and even more availability of classic Japanese films than in Japan. Seven Samurai just became available on DVD here less than 3 years ago while it was one of the first to be released on the Criterion label almost 8years ago. I'm not a big Jackie Chan fan (but Bruce Lee is god) so I don't miss the Police Story stuff, although I know what you mean about the US not getting that stuff. I think the variety of movies is different though, I know in Canada I watched a lot more italian and french films but hardly ever since coming here. Part of it is probably because I don't think the Japanese subtitles would do the films justice and would prefer English and partly because I don't really hear about these films as much.

Anyway, I wasn't comparing the availability of movies between here and US (Maybe it comes across that way from the title of the post) I was just saying that it didn't make sense for a big movie like SW to start in July while the rest of the world released it on the same day.

Agree about マッハ although it did get a bit tiring after a while and that girl's voice was a bit irritating. Maybe if I understood Thai..

<description>Actually, I prefer the wider variety of movies that are available here. Though I have to wait, at least I eventually get to see all Hollywood movies. Can you say the same of Chinese/Japanese/Korean movies in the States?

For instance can you watch Jackie Chan's New Police Story (http://newpolicestory.jce.com.hk/) in the theatres in the US?

I though マッハ(http://www.mach-movie.jp/) was the best action movie I've ever seen but are they going to have a Thai movie like that in the States? I doubt you can even rent it.

I, for one, am going to miss all the variety of movies available here should I ever go back to the States
