Protected Trees

This cherry tree is tree number 88 (in Shinagawa-ku) designated by the government as a tree which must be protected and cannot be destroyed. I notice these protected trees from time to time. According to this site there are 218 protected trees in Shinagawa-ku and 68,815 in total across Japan. I wonder if there are any tree lovers out there who have actually visited each one of these trees? One day, once I become rich and retire I might try and do just that. But if I saw one tree per day, it would take me 188 years to see them all.
