Here’s another obscure Japanese expression: marubi （丸貧） means poor or cheap and marukin （丸金） means rich or extravagant. These expressions are considered 死語 （しご） words or phrases that no one uses anymore, probably most Japanese won’t understand what you’re saying. Yes, that’s right. I would have thought that the pronunciation would be marubin but it’s marubi.
