As everyone knows, the first sunday of December is the day of the JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test). This is my second attempt at Level 1 but unfortunately I’ve been a bit distracted and had not spent enough time studying. That and also I’m just plain lazy. I’m pretty sure I got 100% on the listening and did fairly well on the reading. But, kanji, vocab and grammar were a disaster. After doing a few practice tests and scoring just under the passing grade I doubt my grade will be any better or worse. It will be a miracle if I pass. Well, there’s always next year! The photo is of some trees at the test site. I was bored inbetween the vocab and listening section so I went out and took this picture.

Thanks Dude!
well why do you need to take JPLT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) i mean you got a job in japan and your japanese seem super good.. i just don’t understand….
well i’m a noob at this and it just confusing to me… well any good website about getting a job to work in japan?
thanks a bunch in advance :) and you site always rocks
Actually i’m quite curious, i’m sure you are good enough for JETRO, why are you taking JLPT instead?
Getting Level 1 is just one of those things I feel I need to get. Like getting your driver’s license. That’s all. If I had to go to university I think I would be more motivated to study harder.
My Spoken Japanese is fine. I don’t have problems and can give presentations, hold meetings in Japanese. But reading and kanji etc could be improved. When you first come to Japan studying the language is fun but once you get to a certain level you can get lazy. After so many years I felt it was just time to get off my butt and improve my language skills. The tests are just an excuse to study.
You’re right, roy. it’s too easy to get lazy once we get to a certain level, I think you’re doing a right thing, yeah, it’s a good excuse to keep studying!
I’ve got to improve my Italian by myself too, as nobody corrects me anymore when we’re talking.
But Japanese is too complicated to learn Kanji and vacaburary, I imagine, I’m so terrible in Japanese!
Maybe I have to study Japanese, too..
You’re right it’s too easy to get lazy!!! I need to start studying English, but maybe next year ;)
I also want to learn French and Japanese…you know what?? I’ll take you like example and present some test at the university.
Good luck!!
