Oh MAN!! Get a load of that 1:10th scale replica of the Battleship Yamato!! How cool is that?! It will be officially unveiled at the opening of the Yamato Museum in Kure City, Hiroshima on April 23. Now I got another reason to visit Hiroshima (the other one is to see the Mazda Museum)

Yeah, my first reaction was, “Where’s the wave-motion gun??” but that Space Cruiser Yamato!
These ships (YAMATO & MUSASHI) had the only armor plates ever fitted on a completed warshiip that could not be completely penetrated (entire shell makes it through into the target through the hole it makes) by any shell of any gun ever mounted on any completed battleship at any range, including point-blank: The 46cm (26-inch) thick solid turret face plates (made of Japanese Vickers Hardened face-hardened armor developed during the 1930’s) that were tilted back at 45 degrees from the vertical.
