Cherry Blossom season may be over but outside my balcony, the yaezakura (八重桜)are in full bloom. Yaezakura generally bloom about 2 weeks after the yoshino sakura.
There’s a cherry tree park in the hills north of JR Takao Station (orange) that has tons of different varieties of cherry. Many bloom way after the usual suspects. I believe it’s closed Monday or Sunday. I forget. That’s why l went there two years running with a (now ex, of course) girlfriend and walked up to closed gates. It’s a pleasant walk. Just head north and kind of veer left and then right.
The cherry park is near Takao Station Chuo Line before Takaosan Guchi on the Keio Line (or after if you’re using the Keio Line) but Mount Takao is indeed a nice bit of fresh air and greenery quite doable from anywhere in Tokyo, as you know.

You know I was just thinking about heading out to Takao for a hike, the fresh air will do me some good. I haven’t been out there in a long while.
