Extreme weather today. Up until about 2 pm it was sunny and warm but humid for this time of year. A lot of moisture in the air. When I got in my car this morning, I found an incredible amount of condensation all over including the walls and floors on the carpark. In the aft, it got very windy, the skies turned dark and it poured for almost an hour. I was killing time in Yurakucho. It seems I always end up here even on weekdays.

(1) Took this photo after the skies cleared in the late afternoon (2) And while I was searching for a toilet in B1 of the Kotsu Kaikan I heard the sound of Galaxian. Looked around and saw this old game centre. While I thought the place was kind of nifty, it’s a very lonely thing to be spending a saturday afternoon here playing a 25 year old video game, don’t you think?
In the evening, I saw the Da Vinci code. It was alright and I didn’t think it was as boring as some of the movies critics had said. I would have enjoyed it more if it wasn’t for the old fart sitting across the aisle from me. After he came in, he took off his shoes and socks, rolled up his pants and stretched his smelly feet in my direction, putting them up on the seat in front, sticking his hand down his pants, just being a gross old oyaji. AND he had a few plastic bags that he kept on handling throughout the whole movie. I’m one of those people who should not carry a loaded weapon because I would use it. The human gene pool needs a cleanin’

F*, Roy!!! What’s with this spoiler??!! Damn!!!
Yeah, love that arcade, and those stools! Takes me back to the days I cut my teeth on Space Invaders and Moon Cresta in the Mitsukoshi arcade building in Waikiki back in the late 70’s. Too bad the guy running it doesn’t like pictures being taken (at least not when I was there).
Eddie, oops really sorry. I thought everyone’s read this book. And wasn’t really thinking when I wrote that. I have deleted it from the post.
For what it’s worth, you can see this one coming almost from the beginning of the film.
Kurt, Yeah he did let me take picture either. Not jus the arcade but that whole B1 is retro. I enjoy finding these pockets of shops where time has stood still.
Playing those games would be the perfect way to spend any day.
Hello, just wanted to say that the third picture is a fantastic shot of the sky. Really pretty.
Richard

“For what it’s worth, you can see this one coming almost from the beginning of the film.”
