Japanese Glasses

The Nihon no Megane Shokunin Series 日本の眼鏡職人 (Japanese Glasses Craftman Series), also known as the Celluloid series, are some of the coolest frames you can only buy in Japan. Reason for that is they use celluloid which is highly flammable and illegal as a material for use in glasses overseas. The shokunin series are handmade glasses made by some of Japan’s famous frame craftsman (not fashion designers) and evoke a distinctly Japanese showa-era vintage feeling while at the same time being totally HIP and NOW. The name of the craftsman is engraved in kanji on the inside of the frame. A nice touch.
