This is a brilliant idea. There are one million pixels on the home page and you pay a buck a pixel for your banner. Good way to make a million dollars. The guy who made is 21 yrs old and he’s already made half a million dollars in just 2 months. I’m sure everyone who sees this page thinks “Why didn’t I think of it?” I know I did. I’m both extremely jealous and inspired at the same time. A great idea in the true spirit of the Internet.
EDIT: It seems that there are numerous numbers of copycats out there and these people are posting their links in comments on various blog posts about the milliondollarhomepage. I will delete any comment or trackback with such a link posted here. The young guy has a genius idea and I don’t want any wannabees advertising for free here.
EDIT: I did a search and read many news articles and blog posts about the guy, his name is Alex, and his site. My conclusion is that although a genius idea in itself, I think it is who he is which is making the site a success. At one time in our lives we were all poor students wishing we had a million dollars to make life easier. Deep inside we’re all jealous but at the same time rooting for him to get the million. We all want the little guy to succeed. The other copycat sites run by companies without a face just don’t elicit the same emotion.
