Last week, I upgraded my long neglected Flickr Account to a pro account and have been painstakingly uploading ALL my photo archives. So far I’ve uploaded around 7,000 files and have another 10,000+ to go. At the moment they are all private since I’m interested in using Flickr primarily as a storage/backup place. Once I get all my photos organized and tagged I’ll start sharing some of them and participating in groups although I’ll still keep on photos for this blog on my own webserver. If you visit my Flickr Account now you won’t see much expect the same 2 photos (above) and some Mazinger daigokin pics which I uploaded to test out FlickrExport, a plugin for iPhoto, which was worth the $20 I paid for it. If you have a Flickr Account please add me as a contact. Going forward I will be updating regularly with all kinds of good stuff.
Flickr

I once bought FlickrExport too but I got a refund within 30 mins of purchasing it. Why? Cuz Flickr has free tools for download. I’m using their Flickr Uploader which essentially does the same thing, but not via iPhoto… (iPhoto is just too slow to use)
I was using Flickr Uploader but I find FlickrExport to be faster and slightly easier to use.
well, for that price why didn’t you bought another domain just to host your pics? i just want flickr because it’s easier to upload that using ftp using the programs, because they resize the photos.
Good news…By the way, the 2 photos of this post are great!
Motto-kun, because I have over 30GB of photos. It’s easier and cheaper to use Flickr.
Thanks! But you know, by converting to black & white you can make a mediocre photo into a pretty decent one.
Wow, you are really “animal”, already 7.000 photos! I’ve been two years at Flickr and I have only 5.000. See you at Flickr!
kirai, most of the photos date back to early ’90s. I’m going in chronological order and currently at 2001. There are a lot of pictures but nothing really that interesting, mostly friends and stuff like that.
Hey Roy, does Flickr keep the photo’s original resolution? I mean Flickr does not crop the photo, right? Since I’m thinking of backing up the photos somewhere too.
Yes it does. But you can only get at them if you have a pro account. Flickr also resizes your photos to a bunch of sizes. It seems to me that with the resizing there’s some sharpening going on but some people disagree. I don’t really know but some of my older pics when resized just look a lot sharper.
