I think the hardest thing for me would be coming home and not preparing something, its too much like a ritual.

your doctor was right when he thought you were crazy. detox diets or cleansings do nothing particularly. there's no need to stress your cleansing organs i.e liver and kidney. the good feeling or power you feel is just the result of starving yourself for 1 week and the relief of getting food back in.

what it's actually doing is lowering your metabolism rate, so that when u do come off the diet (or lemon juice) you actually burn off energy or fat slower. resulting in putting more weight on after you go back on normal food. problem with metabolism rate is that it drops fairly fast but picks up very slowly as the body's way to ensure survival in times of no food. resulting in putting on weight easier for a longer time after the diet (and thus eclisping the weight people lose on these diets which is essentially just fluid loss rather than fat loss. and it is rather easy to replenish body fluids)i havent looked properly but essentially the salt fluid you take is just what people use before they do endoscopies.

even the burger u showed in that pic looks lean and healthy by any standard. just dont eat too much. japan food is usually healthy.

My wife always points out that I'm trying to make too many "difficult" changes to myself simultaneously and they always end up in failure. I'm trying "baby steps" now. We'll see how that works. I will now also have to try to find a "Brozers" next time I'm in Japan. I just declared myself a "burger loser" on Kuba's blog for missing opportunities to get to a In-N-Out Burger when in LA and to Fatburger when I was practically next door to one in Vegas recently. Oops - sorry about mentioning those while you're on MC :). Hang in here. Hope the morning salt water thing isn't as bad this time.

I think its great that you are able to blog now and then. I have to deal with not having the latest on inside Tokyo, without your blog. Keep up the good work.

Good to see you post again and good luck on the cleansing. Since you've done it before 14 day shouldn't be a problem

I'm getting roped into doing a soup diet next week, perhaps that could lead on to a lemonade cleanse. I think the hardest thing for me would be coming home and not preparing something, its too much like a ritual.

Coincidentally, I have this book in my Amazon shopping cart as "save for later" but maybe I'll get it now that you've recommended it.
