Some Japanese people don’t have chairs in their apartments and prefer to sit on a zabuton 座布団 (cushion). It can sometimes be bad for your back if you have to sit on the floor for long periods of time. The solution is the hybrid chair-cushion called a “zaisu” 座椅子 or floor chair. Adjustable back support with the comfort of a cushion. Most are pretty ugly and made of the worst material you could imagine. But this one made to look like a piece of toast looks comfy.
Here are two more shaped like a melon-bun and hamburger. I still prefer the toast though.
Buy them here.

Linking your last two posts – they need to have a taiyaki saizu! And it should be heated!
And I thought zaisu were chairs sold at Daiso (they put “ザ” in front of all their products: ザ・椅子). :)
It’s really too late.
I bought my “zaisu” two weeks ago.
I like the toast one.
Wow! I love these zaisu, so creative. Is there any way one can get them in California?
I like the toast version. They should make a lettuce blanket and a tomato pillow.
I’m actually going to be in Tokyo in a couple weeks, are these for sale in stores? Or rather, where can I find a Hirureed store?
Alice, as far as I know it’s an online shop and I’ve never seen that being sold in stores although I never really looked either. They have a map to their shop/warehouse which is in the middle of no where.

If you come to Japan you’ll find lots more interesting things to spend your money on (guaranteed) so I woudn’t waste time trying to track this thing down.
