PS3 fever

Now I’m getting excited and thinking that I might line up to get a PS3. Chances are that Bic or Yodobashi in Shinjuku will have the largest stock but I guess that if you are not in the first 100 places in line you may not get one. Anyone wanna line-up with me? Anyone? Anyone?

I think Yodobashi Akiba will have the largest amount of stock. But they will probably have the largest queue too. Good luck, dude!

I would if i could. I cant believe the overall low number of availability of PS3s in Japan though.

I might go down there to take pictures of people lining up. But I haven’t decided yet. I’d stronly discourage you from buying PS3 now, wait 3-4 months until more games come out, buying a console at launch is never a good idea. Unless it’s Wii :)

My neighbor went to work for Sony Playstation US this Summer. He’s the Sony rep to Best Buy. Yeah, I’m planning to spend time at his house!

As for me, I think I’ll wait a while. At least until after the JLPT on December 3rd.

Yeah, I don’t think I will bother lining up. But there is a small game shop near my house so I might head over there in the morning to see if they have one. I just wanted to get one for bragging rights.

Robbie, you gonna take the JLPT? Good Luck!

I heard there were only 80,000 units on sale in Japan. I’d be surprised if they weren’t all sold out for preorders by now. But if you _do_ happen to get a chance to buy one, go for it. Definitely go for it!

I checked Bic Camera in Yodobashi last night and they told me they haven’t even decided how to distribute the units yet. They aren’t sure if they’re going to do first come, first serve (ie. a huge line) or a lottery system. They said they probably won’t decide until Friday.

I’m going to check back with they on Thursday evening to see if they’ve decided yet.

Large stores rarely seem to take pre-orders on game consoles, but small mom’n'pop toy shops might.
