In my post yesterday, I mentioned about how wonderful the Digital TV Tuner in my Car Navigation System was but I didn’t show any photos. Well, I managed to get just the right screenshots finally and posting them for you. These were taken with my GR with 20mm wide lens converter. That’s why the navi looks rounded. The actual image on the TV screen is also much sharper than in these photos. These images are from a TV commercial for the Casio EXZ1200 digital camera. Unlike analog TV, digital TV will maintain a clear image while the car is in motion, so long as there’s a strong enough signal. If the signal becomes weak it’ll automatically downgrade to a one-seg signal which is the same as on most cellphones.

Nice TV. Curious - do you have thoughts/opinions on the new Ricoh GX100 ?

I’m played with the GX100 at the store and compared the quality of the image with my GR and found the GX to be slightly inferior to the GR. Probably due to the fact that the GX has an optical zoom which translates to more glass. It’s still a good camera though and I would get one if I had some extra cash for it.
