Humus
by Roy on August 12, 2005 09:13

Yesterday, I had this sudden craving for humus. But, from my memory I couldn’t recall I’ve ever seen any Lebanese or other Middle Eastern restaurants in Tokyo (I probably just didn’t pay attention). A quick search on google returned a few. Sindbad in Shinjuku and My Lebanon in Ebisu. Sindbad has a belly dancing show on Saturdays. After looking at their site I realized that I’d been there before.

I’ve been to Israelian restaurant Shamaim in Ekoda, Nakano-ku (中野区江古田) which I liked! Good food and alright price. They also have a 食べ放題 option. :)

If you haven’t been to Ekoda, it’s worth a visit. Many small shops, it felt sort of like a small Shimokitazawa.

Thanks for the tip Patrick, but isn’t Ekoda in Nerima after Higashi-Nagasaki on the Seibu Ikeburuko line? Does Nakano reach up there? I used to go to a club there many years ago, something “Buddy”..don’t remember the name..

Oops, well you’re partly right. This shop is in Nerima-ku, as is Ekoda station, but Ekoda addresses are actually in Nakano-ku. The station is also very close to the borders of Toshima-ku, Itabashi-ku and Shinjuku-ku. That’s something to get confused about.

I just went to My Lebanon recently and the humus was delicious. Mmmmm, now you’re making me hungry.
