Chogokin

Chogokin means “Super Alloy” which is what some of the best robot toys in Japan are made of. It’s the 30th anniversary of “Chogokin” toys and I visited the LaForet Museum in Harajuku to see the exhibition of these super alloy robot toys.

The elevators were decorated with silhouettes of Great Mazinger, Raideen and Robocon. Awesome! They wouldn’t let me take pictures inside the exhibition. Damn! Some really cool toys I can’t show you.

Some of the toys made specially for the show. Great Mazinger, Black Raideen and Dancougar. The robot arm pen was orginally sold in 1977 and was reissued specially for this event. I actually had one as a kid!!
