It seems unusual for the Japanese to remake a poupular American cartoon. Think about it, what if they continued to do stuff like this? We would end up having stuff like the Invader Zim anime ( I LOVE Jhonen Vasques' art style just the way it is ! XD), Justice League anime, and (how retarded does this sound?) the South Park anime! I mean sure they did a couple of anime renditions like turning Sonic the Hedgehog into an the anime "Sonic X" and turning Megaman into "Megaman NT Worrior", but those shows just generally sucked.
