Mitsuru Adachi is starting a new series in Shonen Sunday called Cross Game. He is famous for his manga Touch, Miyuki, H2. All his characters look similar and the stories are usually about high school baseball. The world he creates in his comics is a very pure and innocent japanese adolescence that I think is sometimes a stark contrast to reality but one which many Japanese yearn for. I really enjoyed reading Touch many years ago when I was learning Japanese. There isn’t a lot of dialogue so it’s easy to understand, and what I particularly like is that he has this wabi-sabi way of storytelling that really brings out the Japanesishness (made up this word) of the world he’s creating.

I also love Adachi espescially Short Program, H2 and Katsu! But I also like Rough, Miyuki, Hi Atari Ryoukou, Itsumo Misora, Jinbe, Niji-Iro Tohgarashi and just begin Touch ^___^ and Cross Game!!! Cross Game really surprised me at the end of part 1…
Characacters in Cross Game are younger than in other Adachi Stories, they are only in elementary school :) I’m really forward to reading the next chapter !!!!
